Senator Mary Landrieu Endorses Richmond for Congress

Says Richmond will fight for the hard working families of Louisiana
August 5th, 2010

(NEW ORLEANS, LA.) United State Senator Mary Landrieu has endorsed State Representative Cedric Richmond for Louisiana’s Second Congressional District. As our state continues to recover from the devastation of hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Ike and now the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, we need someone in Congress who has the kind of background and experience that Rep. Richmond can bring to Washington.

“I strongly support Cedric’s candidacy for Congress, he understands the needs of Louisiana, and he is committed to serving the people of the Second Congressional District,” said Landrieu. “During his eleven years of service in the Louisiana Legislature he has established a strong record of fighting for the hard working families of Louisiana.”
Senator Landrieu joins a long list of endorsements including former U.S. Senator John Breaux, the Congressional Black Caucus, PAC., the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), and the Democratic Caucus Chair John Larson.
“I am honored to have Sen. Landrieu’s support for my candidacy,” says Richmond.  “I look forward to continuing to work with the Senator and other officials as we fight to complete the recovery, clean the Gulf, and rebuild the way of life for so many Louisianans.”
