RICHMOND ANNOUNCES HALF MILLION RAISED


(New Orleans, LA.) Today, State Representative Cedric Richmond (D-New Orleans) announced that he has raised $500,000 in his campaign to represent Louisiana’s Second Congressional District.  In the 8 days since the June 30th reporting deadline, Richmond’s campaign has received contributions that have carried them over the half-million dollar fundraising mark.

“I am very humbled by, and very pleased with the support I’ve been receiving in the community.  It’s exciting to be able to make this announcement during the qualifying period. This milestone proves that people are ready for leadership that actually reflects their values and beliefs,” said Richmond.
 
Richmond has received contributions from the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu, former U.S. Senator John Breaux. , House Majority Whip James Clyburn, Congressman Bennie Thompson, and Congressman Kendrick Meek.  He also has the support of several Orleans and Jefferson parish leaders, New Orleans Councilperson Cynthia Hedge Morrell, State Representatives Girod Jackson III, Jared Brossett, Austin Badon, Neil Abramson and Walt Leger, Civil District Court Clerk Dale Atkins, Jefferson Parish Councilman Byron Lee, Gretna Police Chief Arthur Lawson and many more.
